So many times when we think of all that has been accomplished in the early church we attribute most of the work to Paul, Peter, John and a couple other disciples. But their was a host of unknowns that contributed sacrificially so that the Gospel could be taken throughout the world.
So often we take for granted the work that is done behind the scenes. We often forget about the one who cleans up after all is done. We forget about the ones who host, the ones who prepare the meals, the ones who stack the chairs.
I have learned and am still learning that we need to live and walk with others. A life lived alone, independent of others is not only a lonely life, but also not God's design for you and me. We are unable to fully live out the life God has for us unless we allow other's in.
I heard it said before that you are only as good as the people you have around you. There is so much truth in that statement, our lives should complement one another. The combination of my strengths and your strengths give us the possibility to see this community transformed by the power of Christ!
I encourage you to not just do your part, but to live your life tied to others, combining with and complementing others around you. Let Christ be seen in you.
“One man may hit the mark, another blunder; but heed not these distinctions. Only from the alliance of the one, working with and through the other, are great things born.”
