But here is the reality, we can now turn back to who we were before we ever took the journey and live sick, boring complacent lives, pretending we got it all together or we can Act, we can Act on what we have read.
It is time to believe God's Word is powerful, active, and for today. It is time to launch into what He has for you individually, what He has for us corporately, and work our butts off to see this community radically changed by the power of Christ.
Throughout the book of Acts followers of the Way were not seen sitting on the sidelines waiting for something else to happen that would excite them to go. God Himself was more than enough!! What He had set them free from was more than enough; they didn't need another sermon, pep talk, or miracle to happen for them to go. They now through the power of the Holy Spirit were being used by God to bring about the miraculous throughout the land.
I wonder if the miracle, the freedom, the joy, the revelation, the next thing that we are waiting for is all behind our next step of obedience. Think about it for a minute.
- The power of the Holy Spirit was behind obedience; waiting.
- Peter spoke his 1st message and 3000 came to Christ, but what had to happen? He needed to be obedient to the the prompting of the Holy Spirit to speak up; it was a choice! God did not force him to speak. No, God gave him the opportunity and he chose to walk through it.
- The needs of the entire church were met; you know that that was an of obedience and trust to give all that they had to see other's needs met.
- The widow's need were met; that all happened as the church recognized their roles, their gifts, and walked them out. Many today only want to do those things that bring immediate recognition, but not here. All they cared about was reaching the lost for Christ.
- The crippled man healed. Now the apostles had the choice to walk by as they did every other day, but not this day, they made a choice to stop recognize and God delivered.
- Ananias took an incredible step of Obedience when he went to Saul. He had to take a calculated risk, a risk that could of changed his future; and he did. Because he did, Saul now knew that it was God that ordained that day. Ananias's obedience to the prompting of the Holy Spirit now has opened the door for the entire world to know Christ. Paul has written most of the NT.
The evidence & power of Christ is seen in the lives of believer's as they step into God's plan through Obedience. Now is the time! Today is the day to hold nothing back from God.
What is holding you back?
2 Corinthians 12:9-11 - My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
